The Jellyfish Ring is inspired by the scent of the sea that fills your nose the moment you set foot on the island. The waters of the Marmara Sea are the habitat of Burgazada. The first question we ask each other most mornings on the island is, 'how is the sea today?'. Where is the wind blowing from, are the seaweeds and jellyfish close to the shore today? This is part of our daily curiosities.
When designing this ring, we aimed to reflect the memories of the 'jellyfish sea' from all our childhoods. Drawing from our collective memory of the island, we playfully etched our fun memories into a silver ring. On the ring, enamel details borrowed from the blue of the sea and jellyfish patterns crafted with traditional hand engraving serve as a reminder to keep our memories alive.
